Music Video Pitch

Image 1 - When looking into music videos, we considered the genre the most important thing when coming to make our own. We found that there is a wide range to choose from, such as Folk, Latin, Rock and Pop. The genre that suited our taste the best was singer/songwriter. Choosing this was mainly because we found songs by these artists are less likely to have made music videos. This is a benefit for us as it means we have many songs to choose from due to the high popularity of songwriters.
Image 2 - Singer-songwriters are musicians who write, compose and perform their own musical material including lyrics and melodies. These artists typically use guitars or pianos. Often the sound are used for the purpose of entertainment but sometimes they are used for political protests.

Image 3 - Our first choice for the soundtrack for our music video is ‘Broke’ by Hannah Grace. We have picks this song as we feel that it fits our chosen genre well and the pace of the song is how we wanted our music video. Using this song will allow us to use many different camera angles and shots which show her emotions as a performer and the characters. We imagine this music video being old film clips of a couple, in many different locations such as fields and on dates. This would work nicely with filter and editing techniques.
When doing this we would try to achieve an old fashioned feel to the video due to the style of song, her voice and the idea we had of using filter and old film.

Image 5 - Our second choice for the soundtrack for our music video is ‘Promises’ by Ryn Weaver. We feel that this sound differs from any other songwriters music. We chose this song of her, due to the opening beat and the way the pace and feel of the song expands throughout. The opening beat would allow use to experiment with quick shots and cuts. This is something different from last year and would be an amazing challenge for us to try.

Image 7 - Our final choice for the soundtrack was ‘As We Are Now’ by Saint Raymond. We picked this song as we love the artist due to his popularity as a small artist but also to differ from the our other choice. We found that by researching many both male and female artist would give us a range to chose from. We think that performing this song would be the most difficult as getting a male perform may be harder. We liked this song of his because of the beat and the rustic feel to it. We found that the way to beat cuts at the end of the song, as he sings alone would be an amazing way to fade out from a music video. This would be a good way to use some interest of editing and fading techniques.
